The Advert

Now this sounds utterly absurd and most probably is.. but I was wondering whether you could advertise in such a Magazine, would it be allowed (I doubt it though). Bet your saying "No, no, no" wrong sort of person but Im not so sure. I maybe stereotyping here but I can imagine housewives, slightly older ladies etc reading that sort of magazine, or maybe ladies with young children. Maybe they want a thrill or maybe an affair but daren't do such a thing, fantasising while doing the hoovering (you can see Im not a feminist, or PC!) and maybe, just maybe it would appeal to the hidden wild side of these women (we have all got a wild side!)
If not advertising I bet they would love an article about you in there. With your working name and references to your website you would be checked out, arousing a hidden depth in many.
Just a thought anyway!

I don't think the likes of "Woman's Own" and the other "traditional" womens' mags would touch escort ads... An article - quite possibly - BUT, this is where the discretion element comes in... would women be intimidated/put off by an escort who has featured in articles in national media? An advert is one thing but an article that MIGHT be viewed as "kiss and tell" is something else entirely... I think I'd be better off keeping away from the reportage side of the media - but again, I stand to be corrected!

I have given thought to wiritng a "day in the life of" type of submission, but it alwas comes back to the "discretion" element.

Scarlet is by no means a MASSIVE player - they have an audited circualtion of 60K, Womans Own - 440K - quite a substantial differnece... my concern with Scarlet is the fact that it is a rather "raunchy" title - aimed at the "young" woman - perhaps NOT the most likely audience to book an escort... I suspect the Woman's Own readership are much more likely clients than Scarlet readers - but, well... I've "bitten the bullet" now and time will tell!!!!

Well Grant, you have some ladies posting on this web-site you could use to run a small market survey! You could ask what media they read, where they would look for a male escort if they felt the need, why they might want to book a male escort, would they prefer a sexual or non-sexual service, incall, or outcall, long date or short, what concerns would they have about booking a male escort etc etc. Of course, whilst you have a broad spectrum of ladies to choose from they are a little "unusual" since they are less likely to be desparate for male company, but at least they will be open enough to give you some ideas, and perhaps they could comment about how other ladies might feel.

There are all these merry widows on HRT nipping off to Kenya to shag young beach boys (and sometimes bringing them home of course). I wonder where they did their research?

Before formally launching into the escort industry I did conduct some market research - fairly extensive and across a wide cross section of society (females only) - different ages, social groups etc - sometimes in person (obviosuly done in a roundabout fashion - hypothetical questions about their opinions etc); I also quizzed random persons with the aid of MSN messenger etc. Pretty much 100% of respondents said that they'd consider using a male escort but none of them knew where they'd find one - the majority that said they would know where to look said they'd use an agency- but when asked where they'd find that agency, none were able to give a definitive answer.

The problem with magazines is finding one that would be willing to list an escort ad. I contacted a variety of womens' magazines by email and not one responded. The advert in Scarlet is there becuase the MD suggested I try it ( friend of a friend - well, more a "contact of a contact" sorta thing).

Anyway - I've seen it sat on the shelves of my local WHSmith's today... the phone hasn't rung yet - perhaps I ought to make sure there isnt a fault with it or something!!!!!!!?

Its a funny one that, male company. I agree that the ladies here do certainly have a lot of that but unless you have a partner or husband sometimes you can still feel the need to have a gentleman take control of a situation. We are the ones controlling the situation to a degree (not necessarily in a domme sense!) ensuring that the gent has the best time possible, making him feel good, obviously it makes me feel good too, but inbetween times it would be good to know that you are paying for anothers service, lay back, relax and tell them what you want.
I can certainly see the appeal more and more for a male escort, especially as in this moment in time I feel I couldn't sustain a relationship.

seeing two special men friends since Ive been escorting as they dont know what Im doing and as I hate being deceitful I have not been able to bring myself to see them, I miss them badly.
I did comment about something similar on Anika Maes blog, I think I need time to adjust myself, as Im still relatively new to this profession. I could call them tomorrow and they would gladly come and see me, indeed they are wondering whatever is happening.
