Quick question. I have seen some ladies do it here, but I am not sure if I should. Is it ok to post a link to your website along with your forum posts?

My understanding is yes. Site Admin recently announced enhancements to the site of signatures and images in Forum Posts. See the topic thread here.

In his post, Site Admin said that Web URLs can be put in your signature.

I know where your question is coming from ... the red warning when you post to the site saying "Advertising is strictly prohibited!". I believe that the site rule is not to post an advertisement of your services in any of the forums. The forums are meant for discussion and dialog. Technically your Web URL could be classified as "advertising", but the URL in a signature is not as objectionable as repetitive posts hawking services ad nauseum.

That said, putting the URL of a competitor escort directory in your signature or forum post is a no-no.

Yes, feel free to add your URLs to your signature. This is a small bonus to active forum posters. The more you post on the forum, the more links you have to your website. And this is not only good as a direct advertising, but also will boost your site's search engine rankings, such as Google Page Rank etc.

I understand. It can be a little bit confusing. Try this:

1. Click on your Account Profile link.
2. Scroll down to the bottom of your Profile.
3. Click on the Edit Forum Profile link.
4. In your Forum Control Panel, edit your signature in the box.

Enter the following for your website link:
{URL=http://www.yoursite.com}YourSiteName{/URL}

I wrote it this way so that you can see the code. You need to replace the "{" braces with the "[" left square bracket, and the "}" braces with the "]" square bracket.

Remember to replace "www.yoursite.com" with your actual website address, and "YourSiteName" with the name that you want to associate with your website (i.e. they don't have to be the same).

5. Make sure to Click on Update Info.

Hi, I just tried to create a signature for myself using the tags stated above... but, I think it doesn't work :( You can see how my signature looks.. I think that that the links works if I wrote it in the "post text" section... but as my signature, I don't know... ??

Have I done something wrong? If anyone could help me, would be much appreciated.
