Is prostotution legal in austrailia? I have been offered job and I want to know what the negative side is. of cause the man only tell me the good things.

Then it does not matter if prostitution is legal or not. But meanwhile Kitty's question becomes interesting. Which type of job has been offered to her? Is Australia so tolerant, that a lady (from Thailand) can receive the necessary type of visa to receive a workpermit allowing her to work as a prostitute? |

Yes, Australia is very tolerant about sex work as long as the girl works from her own apartment or in an establishement under so called "containment policy". That means these establishments are legal and registered to operate outside residential areas and away from where schools are, etc. Only street prostitution is illegal. There are also some differences between states. At this same time there are many casses of Asian girls working (ie. in infamous Kings Cross in Sydney) being virtually slaves of pimps and sex parlours. Why? Well there is a trick - if you have tourist visa you could not work (and that means any work). Many of these girls are to scared to report to police, they bosses keep they passports, quite often they overstay their visa. In efect these girls work for little (if any) money and do not see any escape fram they situation. Other point however is that I could not see great financial adwantages of working in Australia. Girls in Thailand charging around 3000 bath ST are on par with most Australian sex workers. Sure, there are some really expensive escort girls and brothels but so are in Thailand. And the living costs in Australia are higher than Thailand. |
